Wig Wamania – Melodic.net [se]

3.5 / 5 - If the first album was the hybrid of Bon Jovi's "Living on a prayer",Alice Cooper's "Poison" and Vanhalen's "Jump",then the new album sounds more like a mish mash of Kiss "Crazy nights",Gorky Park's "Moscow calling" and Scorpions "Rock you like a hurricane". Wig Wam knows exactly what buttons to push to squeeze out the winning formula of a striking AOR hit the 80's way,"Wig Wamania" is either better or weaker than the debut album - these Norwegians simply continue the ride of splendid party AOR and everybody's happy. Imagine an album where the songwriters are Desmond Child,Paul Stanley and Jean Beauvoir - ok then, those albums exists with Kiss "Animalize" and Voodoo X but also count this one in coz you could fool anyone with these names being involved in "Wig Wamania".

The AOR killer "Gonna get you someday" is the perfect starter for the friday night party and the new single "Daredevil heat" kicks some serious ass and will be played by many cover bands at bikers clubs in the future.
The instrumental "The riddle" sounds like a salute to Steve Stevens even though I think it's not but axeman Trond Holter aka Teeny uses those fingers just like Stevens.
"Kill my rocknroll" and the opening track "Rock my ride" are perfect to warm up any crowd, the super melodic "Slave to your love" is simply pure evidence of that AOR is still alive and kicking and popular in 2006.
Those who loved "In my dreams" from last year will be more than pleased over Wig Wam's new album - we just have to overlook that they loned Stevie Winwood's riff on "Gimme some loving" for the track "A R'N'R girl like you".
I LOVE THIS ALBUM!
