Live in Tokyo – Metal Invader [gr]
Wig Wam - Live in Tokyo
I had the pleasure to follow WIG WAM since their first album, but I lost their Athens performance due to personal problems. So what would be the best substitute, if there could be any as the band from what I heard is great on stage performers. Nothing else then a live album. Where a decent poser band record such an album, but at Japan of course, as our Eastern friends still show fondness and respect for the genre called melodic rock in our days of extreme metal in the US and Europe. With songs from all the studio releases and an introduction with the Japs screaming Wik Uam, that should add as a bonus to one of their next studio albums, Norwegian glamsters are just beyond any kind of criticism or reviewing, The live atmosphere oz. The band is in fine from deploying their glam/hard rock anthems one after one “Rock my ride”, ”Bless the night”, ”a r n r girl like you”, “Kill my rock n roll”, ”In my dreams”. This album is so live as dead was MAIDENS “Live after death”, one of the most boring albums of all times, due to the overdubbing and underperformance of the band. Imagine a bunch of rockers raised on a strict diet of KISS and VAN HALEN and let free in a park with young high school girls. An orgy of sounds, guitars, vocals, pounding drums., bass lines that give the chill to your spine, energy, fun, rock n roll. At the end of the album you have also “Flying High”.” After the Nine O clock News”, both previously released only in Japan. The verdict is out, posers are the real rockers, they keep the spirit of rock n roll alive and well.Reviewer: Stelios “Cookie Man” Basbayiannis, Metal Invader 18.12.2007
