A slick take on classic 80s hair metal.
When it comes to hooking in the listener Norwegian hard rockers Wig Wam simply do not waste time. Right from opening blast Do Ya Wanna Taste It, it’s clear that every single glamtastic song on offer is just an excuse for a huge, fist-pumping, cheese-mungous chorus that gets repeated mercilessly with the only respite being a suitable over-the-top mad axeman guitar solo stuck somewhere in the middle. In fact, the anthemic-chorus-delivered-in-under-a-minute formula is so successful the band use it almost all the time, which is fine if you’re trying to conjure up a hedonistic back-stage party circa 1985. It’s all here – girls, booze, snow-white drifts of Bolivian marching powder – everything you need in a dozen hi-octane slabs of unreconstructed good-time rock’n’roll. Just switch off your brain and let the riffs do the rest.
