Wig Wam - Non Stop Rock and Roll

4,5 / 5
The title pretty much speaks for itself as the return of the Norwegian glam/sleeze kings return with their first album in over three years - and even if they pertain to a stylistic image approach that homages the 80's heyday of hair metal, these guys aren't in it for some kitsch factor or anything like that - the music comes first with sheer sinister melodic hard rock tunes filled with anthem choruses, hooks galore, arena ready riffs and solos a-plenty, Non Stop Rock and Roll beholds exactly what it says.

The tracks on Wig Wam's latest offering are well crafted, being as if they wanted to write a whole record of hits - these guys know how to write a great song with its big chorus, not to mention that the harmonies that the guys sing together makes this really ride on the melodic strong points. "Wild One," "Do You Wanna Taste It," & "Chasing Rainbows" is where AOR and metal collide, while "All You Wanted" darkens things up and ballads such as "Man in the Moon" & "From Here" both provide the fodder for the backseat, and what melodic rock record would be complete without that.

The lyrics remain realistic (and not shtick riddled like Steel Panther's or The Darkness') and these guys are strong musicians, so it's set in stone that Wig Wam is a real deal when planting their flag in the world of melodic rock. Fans of melodic hard rock/metal, AOR, the golden era of glam metal, & arena rock, dare not miss out on this one.
